Say “Hi!” with Regarding Dahlias

The “hi” card above can do it all (birthday, sympathy, get well, thank you) and is a wonderful option to have on hand and pop in the mail quickly.

STAMPIN’ PRETTY TIPS:

  • The Dahlia stamp is striking when heat embossed in white on Midnight Muse card stock.
  • It’s the little things!  The tiny Real Red heart (Stampin’ Up! Owl Builder Punch) dots the “i” and adds a jazzy pop of color.

  1. Mary, this card is beautiful and I love how quickly you could make a bunch. Thanks for the tips on embossing. I have the same problem with the little melted bits too so I look forward to trying your ideas.

  2. Hi Melissa and Evelyn: I get “stray” bits of powder, too. However, you can reduce them by 1) using an Embossing Buddy 2) flipping the image over after adding embossing powder and flicking the back side (usually into the wastebasket) to pop off remaining powder. 3) Use a little paint brush to off the really stubborn bits 4) Let your heat tool warm up for 5 seconds or so before starting to heat emboss. The powder will melt with heat right away vs. the initial cool air which can blow the powder around.

  3. What a beautiful card – dark with the white is fabulous and the little heart tops it!! No wonder you have medals and honors!

  4. Evelyn – I have this same question. How does she do it?? I always have those little particles – so frustrating when we’re such perfectionists isn’t it? 🙂

  7. Of all the things we do in crafting I find doing white embossing on a dark background to be the MOST difficult. I cannot get it to come out without some little particles sticking to the dark – I’ve tried the emboss buddy and it makes white streaks on the dark. What is the secret? Thanks,
