PPA 151 Stampin’ Up! Secret Garden Card

Stampin up stampinup stamp it pretty card ideas catalog spring secret gardenToday kicks off a new Pals Paper Arts Sketch Challenge (PPA151) with a clever design by Margaret Moody.  Sketches are one of my favorite ways to get a card design off the starting blocks.  Check out what the PPA Resident Artists have created with Margaret’s sketch HERE and play along!

STAMPIN’ PRETTY TIPS:

  • I love the look of the Secret Garden (Stampin’ Up! Spring Catalog) line images stamped on patterned paper.  The coordinating Secret Garden Framelits make cropping them a snap.

  • Large Rhinestone Basic Jewels give the flower centers a touch of bling!

  • Tone on tone stamping (matching ink and card stock) produces a soft and pretty background on the Soft Suede layer.
  • The only stitching you’ll ever see on one of my cards is going to be faux (but I appreciate those who make the effort).  Frankly, I don’t even own a sewing machine.  I used the cross stitch embossing design from Stampin’ Up! Needlepoint Border Embossing Folders for my faux finish.

I LOVE HEARING FROM YOU!   Do you sew or prefer “faux” on your paper crafting projects?  Share a comment below!

  5. I Love this Mary! Great inspiration for new product – without fail you have again done it with beautiful colour coordination and design.
I love to sew on cards but it often means more bench space is needed and more to put away – I simply don’t have the room with my ever growing card making stash – the needle point boarders are a great alternative.

  6. Mary, I’m glad to hear I’m not the only one who does not own a sewing machine! I’m not a sewer, I’m a stamper! Love your card and will for sure case it 🙂

  13. Mary, this stamp set and companion die set are amazing. I will order this bundle in a week or so. Your card is gorgeous, I love the color combination and the bling the rhinestones in the center of the flowers give to the card.
Well, I love to crosstitch, I can say that both stamping and crosstitching are my absolute favorite hobbies.
Thank you for this morning’s inspiration.

  14. Such a beautiful card, I love it. I actually own two sewing machines, but honestly they mostly collect dust. I like sewing when I’m doing it, but it’s like unloading the dishwasher, it’s hard to get motivated to do it – hah! Sooo, my projects are faux all the way!

  18. I sew…..on paper, fabric, you name it….even a blend of mediums. However, I like the “faux” and now that I have seen it on your gorgeous card, I believe it will show up on some of my cards! Thanks for the great ideas!
